The air filter ensures the correct operation of the engine and is therefore one of the most important parts of the vehicle. Air filters that clean the air going to the engine need to be cleaned after a certain period of time because if the air going to the engine is not cleaned, malfunctions may occur in the engine. For those who ask the question of when and how to maintain the air filter of vehicles, today we have prepared an article that will answer this question for you.

How to Clean the Air Filter?

After a certain period of use, the air filter must be changed or cleaned. Because as we have just said, if it is not cleaned or replaced with a new one, the oxygen going to the engine will not be clean and may cause malfunction in the engine or the engine may burn too much fuel. The engine therefore loses power.

Air filters are parts that can be easily cleaned with water. Everyone can clean them easily. So how to clean it?

  1. First of all, it is necessary to remove the air filter from the vehicle. You can remove the air filter from the filter section by opening the front hood.
  2. After removing the filter, the cleaner should be sprayed liberally on the filter. After spraying the cleaner, it should be waited for a while for it to work well.
  3. After a period of approximately 15 minutes, the cleaner should be removed from the air filter with cold water.
  4. After the cleaning process is completed, the filter must dry thoroughly before placing the air filter back into the vehicle. It must be dried completely naturally, that is, it is best to let it dry by itself. Methods such as dryers are generally not recommended because such methods can damage the filter.
  5. After it is completely dry, the lubrication of the filter must be completed. For this, you can choose oils suitable for the air filter and lubricate the entire air filter with those in spray form.
  6. Finally, you can put the air filter back in its place on the front hood.
