What do colored fumes from the exhaust indicate?

As car drivers, we should all be concerned about different colored smoke coming out of the exhaust. Black smoke, white smoke, blue smoke, gray smoke... They all have their own different meanings. In this article, we have talked about what can cause these colored fumes. So let's start with black smoke.
Black Smoke
One of the main causes of black smoke coming out of the exhaust is usually a malfunction in the engine's air filter. When a blockage occurs in the filter, the air cannot escape sufficiently, forcing the engine to strain and causing black smoke from the exhaust. But is air filter failure the only cause of black smoke? No, it is not. Unbalanced injection pressure can also cause black smoke from the exhaust. At the same time, if oil gets into the gasoline you use, black smoke comes out of the exhaust. These are just some of the reasons. We can also add factors such as weather, EGR malfunction, sudden acceleration of the vehicle.
White Smoke
White smoke from the exhaust is often thought to be caused by cold air, but this is not true. The main reason is usually the evaporation of the coolant or leakage into the combustion chamber. In such a case, we recommend that you seek support as quickly as possible.
Blue Smoke
After black smoke, the most common condition is blue smoke from the exhaust. One of the main causes of blue smoke is the engine oil in the pistons entering the combustion chambers. For this reason, the engine also burns the oil that escapes inside, causing blue smoke from the exhaust.
Gray Smoke
As with black smoke, there are many reasons for gray smoke. One of the most common is the turbocharger burning oil. You can check this situation by checking whether the oil is missing from the oil gauge of the car.
These were for gasoline vehicles. Briefly, if we need to explain the reason why black smoke comes out of diesel cars, the following can be said;
-Sudden acceleration and high rpm
-Fuel system malfunctions
-EGR failures and weather
-The quality of the engine used
