Where is the Tent Pavilion?
Çadır Mansion is located in Yıldız Park, within the borders of Beşiktaş district. Built in 1871 during the reign of Sultan Abdülaziz, Çadır Mansion is also one of the most important historical values of Istanbul as a unique example of Neo-Classical and Neo-Islamic architectural style.
Çadır Köşkü, the work of the Balyan Brothers, the palace architects who have signed many important works in Istanbul, is a paradise hidden in the greenery.
About Tent Pavilion
The Çadır Köşkü, which is valued as much as a palace today, was actually an "insignificant" building built as part of the Yıldız Palace complex for "decor" purposes and used for the daily routine of the palace staff.
The red and white colored building has a unique view of the Bosphorus.
Çadır Köşkü remained closed until 1940 and was abandoned to its fate as a ruin in the greenery until it was transferred to the Metropolitan Municipality. The building, which served as the Tanzimat Museum for a short time, was later transferred to the Turkish Touring and Automobile Association, and in 1995 it took its current form.
