1. Istanbul Toy Museum / Istanbul

One of the first places that comes to mind when it comes to toy museums is undoubtedly the Istanbul Toy Museum founded by Sunay Akın. For this reason, it is also known as Sunay Akın Museum. The fact that the museum is located in a historical building attracts the attention of visitors as much as the toys. The museum is open to visitors every day of the week except Monday. There are also theater plays for children on the weekends. The museum is located in Göztepe in Kadıköy.

2. Fairy Tale Museum /Istanbul

Don't let the name of this museum, also founded by Sunay Akın, fool you. Even though it is called the Fairy Tale Museum, the entrance welcomes visitors with toys. Unlike other toy museums, the toys used in fairy tales are also exhibited here. Fairy Tale Museum is located in Kartal district of Istanbul. This municipality-owned museum has no entrance fee. You can visit the museum on all days of the week except Mondays.

3. Gaziantep Game and Toy Museum / Gaziantep

Located in a historical building, the museum is the fourth museum in Turkey. The museum has toys from the years 1700-1900. Some of the toys are factory-made and some are handmade. There are nearly 600 toys in the museum, which consists of nine separate sections.

The museum is located in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep. Adult entrance fee to the museum is 5 TL, while there is no entrance fee for students.

4. Antalya Toy Museum / Antalya

The museum started operating on April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day in 2011 under the curatorship of Sunay Akın. It is the third toy museum established after Istanbul and Izmir. There are nearly 3,000 antique toys in the museum.

The museum is located in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya. It is also open to visitors every day except Monday.

5. Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences Toy Museum / Ankara

Established in 1990, the museum is one of the oldest toy museums in Turkey. The toys in the museum are divided into 4 categories: antique, fabricated, traditional and foreign.

The museum is located at Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences Cebeci Campus Cemal Gürses Street. You can visit the museum on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

6. Umran Baradan Play and Toy Museum / Izmir

Ümran Baradan Play and Toy Museum, Turkey's second toy museum, was opened in Izmir in 2010. The museum exhibits toys brought from abroad by ceramic artist Ümran Baradan. The museum has received awards at home and abroad for its successful work. The museum also hosts children's workshops throughout the year. The museum is located in Konak district of Izmir.

7. Musa Baran Game and Toy Museum / Izmir

Musa Baran Play and Toy Museum is located in Bademler Village in Urla district of Izmir. One of the most important features of this village is that it is a place where all the village people make theater. The museum was opened in 1990 by archaeologist Musa Baran. The museum exhibits toys made with the means of village life and items from Musa Baran's childhood. There are also toys sent to Musa Baran from Japan.
