Highlights
From Samsun to Sinop

Evaluating the country not city by city, but region by region and experiencing each region in its entirety is the best way to turn a simple trip into a pleasant, full and unforgettable experience. In our "While we were there" series, we aim to present you the neighboring beauties together and list all the beauties that "you should see while you are there". As the first suggestion, we chose Samsun, the starting point of our liberation struggle. Let's take a look at what you must see "while you are there".
The first step to liberation

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms were finally able to anchor in Samsun after a 3-day sea voyage. On May 19, 1919, Ataturk set foot in Samsun and lit the fuse of the War of Independence from this city. Today, this point, called Tütün İskelesi (Tobacco Pier), is one of the most important cultural heritages that must be seen in Samsun. When you arrive at the pier, you can see Atatürk's pithy sayings in the sections placed to the right and left while passing through the ornamental pools, examine the wax sculpture museum, and then turn your route to the Atatürk Monument. Atatürk Monument is located right next to Cumhuriyet Square. This monument is officially recognized as the place where Atatürk and his friends set foot in Samsun for the first time and is among the most important cultural values of Samsun.
Before moving to Sinop...

You should definitely try Samsun bagel before you set off. Among the bagels that differ from each other with local characteristics all over the country, Samsun bagel is assertive enough to stay in your mind and palate for a long time. Bagel, one of the alternatives you can choose for a light but very delicious breakfast, stands out as a local flavor that is both filling and delicious.
First to Hamsilos and then to Inceburun!

After approaching the center of Sinop, be sure to visit Hamsilos Fjord, which is about 15 minutes from the center. The biggest feature of Hamsilos is that it is Turkey's only fjord. If you have enjoyed the unique view and peace at this point, our next route is İnceburun Lighthouse.
Inceburun Lighthouse is one of the most famous spots in Sinop. Built in 1863, this lighthouse enchants those who see it with its white appearance. Not only the lighthouse, but also the view of this point is just as memorable. Those who want to enjoy the unique view for a long time prefer to stay in hostels or hotels in close locations during their Sinop travels.
Dinner time

The fame of Sinop ravioli is big enough to cross the borders of the country. When you go to Sinop, you should definitely try the pole kebab, which is a very delicious local flavor that is not heard much.
Last but not least:
"When I saw Samsun and the people of Samsun, I once again strongly believed that all my thoughts and decisions regarding the country and the nation could be fulfilled. The patriotism and sacrifice that I read in the eyes of the people of Samsun, which I saw in their state and condition, was enough to lead my hopes and imaginations to a positive belief." says Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. These words alone are enough to experience these unique beauties on the spot. If you haven't made your plans yet, you can rent a car now and spend a pleasant weekend adding your own experiences to our recommendations.
