Skoda Unveils New Racer
Skoda has unveiled the all-new Fabia RS Rally2, which will take part in the World Rally Championship and European Rally Championship. The modernized SKODA FABIA Rally2 has completed thousands of test kilometers on gravel, asphalt, snow and ice with full points.
The FABIA RS Rally2, which also references SKODA's sporty road cars, is inspired by the historic 130 RS. The new car follows in the footsteps of the FABIA Rally2 Evo, which has taken over 1700 wins and 6 world championships, including the Monte Carlo Rally.
The Mamba Green color preferred by SKODA Motorsport in the FABIA RS Rally2 also points to the brand's connection with its sporty models.
New Racer Inspires
The brand has spent two years developing the Fabia RS, which will replace the highly successful Fabia Rally2 and Evo models that have proven their strength in the qR5 classes around the world to date. Skoda's latest rally car is based on the new fourth-generation Fabia. The Fabia RS is powered by an all-new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine based on Skoda's road-going RS models, which is capable of producing 289 horsepower and distributes it to the car's all-wheel drive system.
The new Fabia, whose wheelbase has been extended compared to other versions, promises to give teams an advantage with the balance updates. There are also changes to the brake cooling system, aerodynamics package and suspension system.
